A Warm Welcome to the home of Pr
esbyterian High School's SJAB Corps!
BEYOND the crisp black and white black uniform, the bellowing commands, and the stomping of polished black boots, our service reaches far beyond the boundaries of our school. It isn't unusual to spot of cadets at major events like the Chingay Festival or school events like Jogathons and Swimming Carnivals.
PRESBYTERIAN High School's St John Amubulance Brigade Corps is no ordinary Uniformed Group. It was formed since 1983 and has been part of the school's core CCA ever since. It now consists of about 40 cadets and officers. Every Wednesday, cadets embark of rigourous PT training, footdrill lessons, and first aid lessons consisting of CPR, bandaging and theory. The cadets too have opportunities to take on various courses such as archery and canoeing to provide a more holistic experience.
SJAB is a voluntary organisation having its roots dating back since 1066. In 1877, St. John Ambulance Brigade came into being as a uniformed body, to band together people who had qualified in First Aid and Home Nursing to serve the public regardless of race or creed in any emergency.
